Icloud on my mac gives wrong email address when asking for password

My apple-ID is ok on my iphone and on my mac except when I want to do something with Icloud on my mac. It gives a wrong email address (a really old one) that doesn't match my password. I and many others have tried to change that but with success. Could you please tell me what to do.

Apple ID on my MacBook Pro is still using my old email ID Hello, The Apple ID in my MacBook Pro is still using my old email id instead of my updated Apple ID, because of this I couldn't sign-in to iCloud. Mac OS prompts me the following message in a pop-up: Enter the password for your Apple ID to continue using iCloud on this Mac: <OLD_EMAIL_ID> Though I enter a valid password for my Apple ID that works in my iPhone, it throws me an error in my Mac OS saying it is not valid. I believe it is because Mac OS is still using my old ID here. How do I update my Apple ID in my MacBook Pro not to use my old ID and use my updated email ID instead? I changed my Apple ID email, everything on my phone works well but not on my Macbook Advanced apology if this is unclear or if I'm missing key info. A few months ago I changed my apple ID email and password. I haven't been able to update it on my Mac. It's causing problems because I can't update things like adobe because my Mac is still connected to my last apple ID which is no longer valid. I can't figure out how to change my apple id on my computer to my current one. I only have the option to change my password of my last apple id (which I've tried to do to see if I can still just use that, but of course, it says it's invalid). Any help would be appreciated.
