iMac 5k i7 retina 2017 temperature cpu

I've read most of the postings in this forum about the temperature of the CPU on iMac 5K i7 Retina 2017. I'm still a bit worried. The temperature of the CPU when using X-Plane 11, is way up there in the 90's (Celsius). Activity Monitor shows the combined cores.

If I only use standard stuff e.g. Apple Mail, Safari and MS Word, the temperature is a lot lower and CPU sage is low.

What is happening? Can homebody help? Etrecheck thinks I have a great iMac ("Good" / "Excellent") except when X-Plane heats up the CPU. Then the verdict is "Below Average".

Find included two screenshots, one with X-Plane active and one with 'normal' stuff.

Thanks,

Theo.

I have the same problem:

The working temperature is 100 degrees and the fans 2700 rpm when the processor is working above the 90 percent in the i7 model.

Apple say everything is ok and the official Apple technical service and told me: "After run and successfully pass the official hardware diagnostics of Apple is not problems indicated by the client"

X-Plane is hogging 233% of CPU time thus seriously slowing down the computer. Either it is malfunctioning or has a compatibility problem. Stop using it.

Use Activity Monitor to Kill Runaway Processes

Use Activity Monitor on your Mac

Runaway applications can shorten battery runtime, affect performance, and increase heat and fan activity.

Should the above not prove helpful, then make an appointment at the Apple Genius Bar for service. If you need to find an Apple Store - Find a Store - Apple.

I'm not sure you should do anything, but I would use Activity Monitor to keep track of them. What is reported is at the instant the report is generated. It may not be persistent.

Thanks so much Kappy. I run Activity Monitor all the time; no stray dogs ... never.

Here's the Etrecheck report. X-Plane 11 was not active.

I got an "Excellent" but there was a remark about X-Plane.
