Thanks for responding. Recents is the only way how I used to get to docs but I cleaned out old docs and in making sure it was OK to delete them, they became my Recents and the important stuff got pushed down and no longer appear...that's why I need the original Save path so I can go get them!!

How did you clean out old docs? Perhaps they no longer exist?

After you use the steps I previously specified, try clicking on the top of the "Enclosing Folder" to find the path.

Back to your very first question, Documents are saved where you specify. Default save locations are application specific, and unpredictable.

In the attempt to improve my disc storage situation, I right clicked and deleted anything that needed to go (and then I emptied the Trash!!!)....only very old docs and auto back ups of those old ones were deleted. I never deleted anything that is now important. The problem is that after I "looked at them" to be sure I wanted to delete them, they became my 'Recents' and so now the necessary stuff is 'hiding' in my Mac Book!!
