Shure BT1 Problem with Watch and IPhone

When I power my Shure BT1 headphones they pair with both my iPhone X and Watch 3 automatically. When I start music from either source it plays for ~.1 second in headphones and then immediately pauses. I can press play again and music plays for ~.1 second then pauses. Listening is only possible if I disconnect either the watch or the phone. Is this how it's supposed to work? What are best practices regarding setup? Thanks!

Hi

For assistance with issues experienced when using Shure headphones in conjunction with both iPhone and Apple Watch, I suggest that you consult Shure's support resources and/or contact them:

You may wish to consider buying AirPods, Beats X, Powerbeats3 or other Apple / Beats products that are able, using the W1 chip, to connect to both your iPhone and your Apple Watch at the same time, switching between them automatically as and when required.

You are not alone. I have been looking for a solution for this and have not found it. I would say it happens the most when playing music from the phone directly to the headset. If I am playing music from the phone to the watch to the headset it happens a lot less. I am suspecting some sort of Bluetooth profile incompatibility. BTW it also happened when I only had the BT1 paired to the phone and not the watch.
