HomeKit invite spinning wheel

I invited another account to control my home. When accepted, I have the spinning wheel since then. It has been three weeks.

Called AppleCare, ended up with a senior advisor who said she’ll get back to me after she gets an engineer; and never heard from her again.

Please help.

My devices:

iPad Pro 10.5 running iOS 11.2.5

Two iPhone Xs running iOS 11.2.6

Two Apple TVs running tvOS 11.2.6

Two HomePods running HomePod 11.2.5

iPhone X, iOS 11.2.6

I had the same issue and got it fixed by following these steps on the device that is spinning (the one receiving the share invitation):

1- before anything else, make sure you cancel the invitation (from the other device)

2- delete the local home from the spinning device using the Home app

3- kill Home and launch it again

4- decline any invitation request that may pop up

5- repeat steps 3 and 4 until you don't see any invitation request popping up

6- disable iCloud for the Home app in the Settings

7- uninstall the Home app

8- reinstall the Home app

9- launch Home

10- enable iCloud when prompted

11- create the default local home

12- from the other device, send a new invitation

13- accept it in the target device

=> at this point, it will spin for a few seconds and succeed
