Red underlining in all Mac emails

In all my emails many words are underlined in red dots - how do I turn off this function?

iPhone 6, iOS 10.3.1

You may be able to toggle Apple Mail spell check off and on in the settings.


Depending on the version Mail & system you're using, there may be different

settings or procedures to follow. I see you've posted in early MacBook 13-in

section ~ but your signature line suggests an iPhone 6, iOS 10.3.1.


The Mac OS X 'help viewer' built into the system would have correct process

on how to toggle on-off the spell checking segment of this application... And

depending on what version there may be subtle differences in how to do it.


In my Mac (OS X 10.5.8 in vintage one in use now) 'mail spell check' Mac Help

shows a general Mac OS X Spelling and Grammar checking options info page.

This isn't much different than later Mac OS X systems. (But if your inquiry is for

an iOS device, there are other places to look for Settings including main menu.)
