External Hard Drive not seen after upgrade to High Sierra

I have recently upgraded to High Sierra. I use external hard drives that worked well with OSX but now simply do not appear when connected to either USB port. A little research and it seems the problem may be around the format of the files as they are NTFS. If that is the case, when I connect the hard drive into my MBA, what can be done to the settings in order to access the data?

External HD Not Opening in FCPX 10.6 Hi, I'm using OS Big Sur on my 2016 MacBook Pro. For some reason my external hard drive shows up in FCPX but, as if it is empty. I tried opening another HD in which I had the same results. I went ahead and re-installed FCPX which didn't help. The following is what it looks like in FCPX when trying to import media. Mac doesn't recognize external hard drives after being installed l have a late 2015 I mac I did the latest up date to mac OS Monterey 12.01 now my external hard drives won't show [Re-Titled by Moderator]
