I cannot add music to my Apple Music library

When I attempt to add new music to my library, it says ”added to library” but it does not actually add. When I press download, the rotating circle appears as if it is preparing to download but it never does. I have plenty of storage on my device and I’ve never had problems adding any music to my library before.
