Got an email showing a purchase for 4996 from iTunes cannot find this on any purchase history or how to cancel it please help

Email showing a purchase of $49.96 from iTunes I did not authorize any sort of purchase and I don’t find it in any purchase history how do I make sure it’s canceled Caroline from Enid

If the only indication of the charges is from an email or text, be aware that it may be a phishing attempt to get you to log in to a site that appears to be Apple and divulge your password or credit card information. Avoid phishing emails, fake 'virus' alerts, phony support calls, and other scams - Apple Support

You can use the following instructions to determine if it is a real charge, what it is for, and to report a problem: Get help with an item purchased from the App Store, iTunes Store, or iBooks Store - Apple Support

I just received identical email I did click the link to ‘cancel’ which asked me to fill in all the details including the ssn for purpose of verificatio. Well ... the ssn woke me up realizing that it was a phishI gotta attempt! I forwarded the email to Apple.


With two step verification being active, I should have immediately realized that it was a fraudulent email
