Apple Pencil not working in Notes app - iOS11.2.6

I’m using an iPad Pro and my Apple Pencil will not write in the Notes app. I click the pencil point icon and can select a writing tool, but the pencil only acts like a stylus scrolling the screen instead of writing. The pencil is working properly in other apps (Notability and OneNote). Any idea what might be going on?

Apple pencil not working properly I recently bought an iPad 9th generation and an apple pencil 1st generation. From the begging when i write (mostly i use goodnotes but it happens in other apps as well) sometimes it stops writing and its very annoying, most of the time i have to write randomly in another part of the page to make it work and it happens very often. I tried a few things: -Reconnecting the pencil -Restarting the iPad -Restoring the iPad -Writing without the case I thought the problem was the apple pencil but it turns out it works perfectly in other devices. Any ideas of what can I do?

Apple Pencil (2nd Gen) lagging with prolonged use. Hello, why does the Apple Pencil lag if I use it for a while? I use my Apple Pencil primarily in the notes app, well ... taking notes and I always find that if I am taking lecture notes it the pencil will start to produce very noticeable input delays after using it for about 20 minutes or so; so about two pages of notes taken. I am using a 5th iPad Air and 2nd gen Apple Pencil. What confuses me most is that when the lag is large I will open another notes tab and sure enough, there is zero noticeable lag. swapping to another notes tab stops the issue. This is what confuses me, why is the notes app poorly optimised for Apple Pencil? I have not used any other app with note taking functionality so I have not been able to witness this being an issue for other applications.

Ah! That’s it. The note I was using was too long and it didn’t auto scroll to the sketch window. Guess I assumed/hoped it meant they updated the app to allow you to actually write on the note.

You are writing in the Sketch part of the Notes app, right?

You can’t use the Apple Pencil on an actual note.
