Watched every Utube demo for changing outgoing greeting and checked help sites/ google they all instruct to tap the phone icon - then the voicemail icon All help says to select "greeting" in upper left corner I have no 'greeting' in upper left corner of screen?!

do you have visual voicemail or do you have to dial your vm number to hear your vm? if the latter then suggest you contact your phone carrier and see if you can use visual voicemail, then you can add a greeting.
