MacBook Pro 13" 2017 thunderbolt 3 won't connect to LG 34UM69G-B monitor

I purchased a LG 34UM69G-B monitor and I can't get it to successfully display and power the laptop at the same time. I want to use the display and power function in thunderbolt cable so please don't recommend going HDMI or Displayport even though I appreciate the feedback.

I purchased the following cables and got the result listed:

Belkin 3' thunderbolt 3 60w ($23) - displays as external monitor, does not charge laptop

Belkin 6.6' thunderbolt 3 100w ($79) - charges the laptop, but no display

Apple .8m thunderbolt 3 100w ($39) - displays as external monitor, does not charge laptop

Any suggestions as to why any of these cables can't do both? I thought the wattage was the issue, but apparently not since the Apple is 100w.

MacBook Pro with Retina display, macOS High Sierra (10.13.3)
