ITUNES WILL NOT OPEN

Had to replace my HD and copied the ITunes library from a backup

but IT will not open. Icon bounces for ever an then...nothing

even though Command + arrow shows it is there but the app is not responding

I trashed the .plist and then IT opens with the contact license

I click on Accept and then the balls rolls but the app doesn't open

MacBook Pro, macOS High Sierra (10.13.3)

First, try simply restarting your computer. If that does not help -->


Hold down the option/alt key while starting iTunes and create a new, test library. If iTunes starts, your old library file is corrupt and will need to be replaced from a backup or rebuilt from scratch:

If the option key method does not work -->

If you cannot narrow the issue to being user-specific file problems you may need to reinstall iTunes:
