Yeahhhh I hate this because it implies that somehow the battery being worse now is due to having changed some settings or something. Like, my iPhone's been at the SAME screen brightness for three years. It's not like I suddenly got hardcore with my usage, still using just like I was. My battery doesn't need to be serviced, but randomly drops 30% in about a minute. I know what apps are using the most power, but it's still not making a lot of sense as to why that's suddenly draining it when it was being used the SAME WAY TWO WEEKS AGO BEFORE I UPDATED. I didn't change anything. What did y'all change is the question here?
So no, Becky, this wasn't helpful. Something about this update is causing my battery to drain super fast while being used the same way it was before. So, instead of giving us tips on changing our screen brightness, did Apple do some sneaky crap like bury more location based ads and stuff we should know about to turn off?
Sorry, but I'm pretty over Apple playing helpful and trying to act like the error is the users doing. ITS NOT HOW IM HOLDING THE PHONE, ITS NOT MY SETTINGS GOING WHACK. I could lock this thing down, put it on airplane mode, battery saver mode, turn off every notification and location services, etc. But... I could also just go buy a Pixel 2 which has a battery that works and be done with a company blaming it's users for crap they're messing up.
Sooo... Got some actual advice or a date for the next update that will actually fix this?
After literally 6.5 weeks, my phone battery suddenly, in one day, improved dramatically. Not sure if it’s as good as it was before, but after 6 weeks of utter crap it’s good. Extremely frustrating, but it did finally resolve. This is iPhone 6.
my iPad was doing the same thing. I couldn’t use it for more than 10 minutes from 100% before shutting down. I just bought a brand new one last night and this morning it’s doing the very same thing! I am so ******!! This is total BS Apple! How many more do you want me to buy this week?
Buying a new one is completely useless. i Just bought a brand new iPad last night because mu (not so old) one was doing this. Today, the first day in use, the brand new one was draining 1% per second right before my eyes.
Have this exact same issue - spent about a month talking to Apple support about it and the support person admitted that there was a problem that they were looking in to (this was during a phone call to their 3rd line support team) - they replaced the battery on my 6s for free and this improved things a little for about 3 weeks - it’s now worse than ever - it’s basically useless. I tired contacting the 3rd line support operative again but she did not reply so I tried creating a new ticket but the online system said I was now not entitled to support for my device. This is pretty appalling service. I pay extra for Apple because it’s meant to just work and should have unparalleled service. I’m carrying an external battery with me all the time now. Later this week I’m buying a new (Android) phone. Really disappointed with the whole experience. There is clearly a problem with some hardware configurations and the new OS. Lost faith in the Apple brand as a result of this.
I am on At&t and our data usage is going CRAZY when the battery issue happens. I have also found that the data shows as cellular, BUT a device can be burning through data even when on wifi.... I am working with At&t and have not gotten any answers as to how this could be happening.
Just updated and the battery has gone awol. *** is going on? Yesterday fine today utter crap.
My wife and I are having the same problem with both of our phones. I am hopping that apple will see these posts and fix the issue. It started occurring for both of us the day after we upgraded.
Is there a fix yet my new iPhone X needs 3 charges a day
After my crazy battery loss yesterday it seems back to normal today.
Identical usage 2 days in a row, one day I’m at 10% left on my journey home the next day 64%.
same deal - great one day, virtually unusable the next day after upgrading to th 11.2.6 version. REALLY MAKING ME THINK TWICE ABOUT EVER BUYING ANOTHER APPLE PRODUCT!!!!!
You mean after 6.5 week of normal use it returned to normal battery usage?
Hi did u finally solve your problem? How much time it took after update to return to normal? Did u resotre ur phone?
