I recently got this EFI-check message ("Your computer has detected a potential problem"). Does this mean there's malware on my Mac?

My 2017 Macbook Pro recently showed me this message, "Your computer has detected a potential problem", the same one mentioned in the referenced support article. Should I be worried about malware on my computer? Could something else cause this message to appear?

I clicked on the "Send to Apple" button.

PS in case it's relevant: This new laptop has been showing many stability issues. The most common and annoying one is that it shuts down randomly while sleeping. I've woken up many times and open my laptop just to find it has shut down due to a "problem". Perhaps it's related, not sure.
