How does the led on the top of the front of the iphone 8 plus working?

Because its not working in my phone

There is no LED on the front of the iPhone including the iPhone 8. There is an Accessibility feature for the hearing impaired that uses the back LED flash to provide notifications for them but there is no LED on the front of the iPhone, only on the back beside the camera. If you take a photo using the front camera and have the flash enabled it uses the screen’s display to provide the necessary lighting.
