Adobe Digital Editions

My local library has eBooks I can download to either my IOS device (which I can do) or to my Mac laptop computer. I believe I need the Adobe software called 'Adobe Digital Editions' but it is not in the Mac's App Store. Adobe.com states I should go to my Mac's App Store.

The Adobe reader allow reading books delivered online, via the reader, from OverDrive (the content provider). I could not find any help at OverDrive either.
