My MacBook Pro is very slow. I currently have 2, 2GB cards (4GB) installed and I wonder if installing 2, 8GB cards (16GB) will improve its performance and increase its speed?

You will use Disk Utility to reformat, start by erasing the disk then set the format after erasure to be MacOS Extended (Journaled), set the partition map as GUID.
The OP is using Sierra (I cheated and looked at the Etrecheck report) so now we know.
So, there are inconsistencies between copies of HS.?
Please post a screenshot of whatever you are seeing.
