Mail send only when manually receiving

Newly acquired MacBook Air High Sierra OS10.13

Where is the outbox in Apple Mail Version 11.2, where I can recheck an email before it is sent ?

I switched off automatic download when the mails go out immediately

On windows with outlook mail, you can switch off both 'send immediately' and 'automatic email download'.

The email only goes first into tje outbox fand only is uploaded when you click a manual send/ receive.

How do I do this with Apple mail ?

MacBook Air, iOS 10.1.1, OS10.13 / Mail version 11.2

In Apple Mail, you would not use the "outbox" for this, as this box contains material in transit. You would instead use the "Drafts" box.

The process is as follows:

  • Compose your email draft as usual.
  • Click the red circle in the upper left corner of the mail draft's window. (See the first screen shot below.)
  • That will result in the box shown being displayed. Choose "Save" (See the second screen shot below.)
  • After this, the email will reside in the "Drafts" area until you send it.
