Podcast app autoplays in Bluetooth even when app is off

My Apple podcast app starts on its own when I get into the car and phone connects to Bluetooth streaming... even when I have closed app and last thing playing was Spotify

Ever since I upgraded to iOS 13, my phone automatically starts playing music via bluetooth in the car, even if the music app is closed. This happens even if I am listening to something else when I get in the car; e.g., if I am streaming NPR or something else, the music will start playing and cut off whatever I was CHOOSING to listen to. I don't have CarPlay, so that is not the issue. Apple Car Play differs from using auxiliary how? I have Sirius/XM and Stitcher (podcast app) and I guess we have Apple Car Play?I now just link the phone to the car via bluetooth and use it as auxiliary.If I engage car play, what changes? How do I use it differently?Also, if you know, i subscribed to "The Nerdist" in podcasts at one time, requested downloads of a bunch of podcast episodes, some did and some didnt, right now there are 6 waiting to download, when I cancel them they come back in 2 minutes and wait to download.Auto download is off, I have even unsubscribed, any suggestions to permanently end these podcasts from waiting?

Can I stop automatic music playback via Bluetooth? When I am playing music from iPhone via Bluetooth in my car, then leave and come back, the music starts up again automatically. If I am using Maps or trying to make a call, that can be really annoying. There should a preference setting that would allow that to not happen. Can I adjust this somehow?
