Macbook Pro does not recognise extra screen

Hi,

I have a macbook pro 13" which I bought a month ago. Today I tried to connected it to an extra screen but the laptop doesn't recognise it, so the extra screen puts on sleep mode.

I'm connecting the extra screen with a hub adaptor via HDMI.

I have the High Sierra 10.13.3 version on my laptop (I only updated once).

Does anyone knows how to solve this?
