Music Categories on Apple Music

I have yet to find how to select any of a number of music categories (beyond the very limited ones provided) in Apple Music. For example - we enjoy listening to a wide range of funk music, but don't yet know how to tell Apple Music to play that type of music beyond selecting such tunes and putting them into a playlist.

Spotify has a pretty wide range of categories, including several categories of funk.

I'd appreciate either knowing how to select such a category - or get confirmation that Apple Music doesn't yet match or exceed Spotify in this area.
