Anyone having troubles with Samsung SSD 850 EVO while updating OS X?
Greetings from Venezuela, this is my first time around here. Hope u guys can help me out on this.
I have a MacBook Pro 17' Late 2011 and i just can't make it to update from Mavericks 10.9.5 to practically any superior OS X. Last year i tried to update it to Yosemite, and it gave me an error. After many failed attempts the MBP just wont started again. I've got stucked on a Gray screen.
So last year i went to Florida, and took it to an Apple Store so they can update the software, and the Genius told me that there was a problem with my CORSAIR SSD and had to replaced it, that it was the main reason of the failure, so i went straight to the SAMSUNG 850 EVO 128GB. After replacing the SSD, went again to the Apple store and they began with the updating process. After 3 hours, they couldn't make it to Yosemite or any other superior OS X, and told me that apparently the SAMSUNG'S SSD didn't work well on MacBook Pro, and gave me my MBP with the original Mavericks running on it. I wasn't very pleased about the service they provided me.
After that experience, i'm really scared about damaging my SAMSUNG SSD while trying to update again.
Does anyone has a SAMSUNG SSD on it's MBP running High Sierra? Any advice?
Thank's a lot!
