My phone is forwarding message from one person to others, even over different apps (ie messages sent on facebook messenger being sent over text). Sometimes it’s not just one message it sends whole conversations. It has happened numerous times now - will a factory reset solve this issue?

Yes, for example my message sent from my friend is forwarding onto my other friend without me doing it. Once all the messages I sent someone over Facebook chat was sent to someone else over text.
