Macbook pro, early 2011, is running very slow.

Very slow, lots of beachballing. This machine has been slow for 3 years. Just upgraded from IOS 10.9.5 to High Sierra 10.13.3. Still very slow. Suggestions are appreciated! I ran an Etre Check report - am pasting it in here.

You have both Clean My Mac 2 and 3 installed. Having one version of this scam program is known to adversely affect performance, but two really spells trouble. Try uninstalling both. Also uninstall the Webroot security software. Anti-virus programs on the Mac, in this age, are unnecessary and are also known to cause performance issues. Apple's built-in XProtect process deals with malware, so the need for third-party utilities to do that should be re-evaluated.

Maximum for your model is 16GBs - two 8GB modules - 204-pin PC-10600 (1333 MHz) DDR3 SO-DIMM. The DMem kits will work. Note that OWC did the testing to determine what Mac supported more RAM than certified by Apple. Be aware that installing the kit will likely work but there is no guarantee they work in all models from the same year. There isn't anything you can do if they don't work but return them and request an exchange for the 8GB kit. Keep the receipt. Dmem accepts returns for up to 30 days, I believe.
