Replacement battery for 13" 2012 mb pro.

I live in Chile and I need to replace my 13" Mid-2012 MacBook Pro battery. Shipping it back to the U.S. was out of the question and most U.S. based suppliers will not ship a battery here. I did find a replacement battery here but it is not an SMP brand battery. It is very similar to this one: https://www.amazon.com/Temark-Battery-020-6547-661-5229-661-5557/dp/B06W534WLF/r ef=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1520601300&sr=8-3&…

My question is, I did not receive instructions on how to calibrate it and I assume that it will need to be done. Thanks in advance.

I would point out that you're risking Apple ever doing any kind of hardware service by doing it yourself. Batteries (while easy to replace) are not considered user-serviceable by Apple. At the very least I would recommend keeping around your old battery to put back in if you're thinking of bringing it to Apple (or an AASP) for any kind of hardware service.

There are Apple Authorized Service Providers in Chile. I found 7 in Santiago that will service Macs. For something like a MacBook Pro battery they should be able to order one and provide the replacement service.

I'll also add that a lot of aftermarket batteries aren't necessarily known for playing nice with the battery management system. There are way too many reports of odd behavior such as an MBP just shutting down unexpectedly when it's reporting anywhere from 40 to 70%. The battery management system is tuned to work with an OEM battery. If an aftermarket battery contains a slightly off smart battery board or substandard cells it will likely fail unexpectedly.

Apple has multiple battery suppliers, so an OEM battery is not necessarily SMP (Simplo).
