Audio Lag Apple TV + HomePod

I just got my Apple TV and am using my HomePod to output audio via AirPlay.

In certain applications (Minion Run, VLC or other media players connecting to a media server) there will be about a 2-3 second lag between the video on the TV and the HomePod audio. If I switch the audio back to HDMI there is no lag in any apps. Certain apps also never lag even with AirPlay (Youtube, Music).

Anyone know what the issue might be or what I can do about it? Could it be a bug in certain applications or tvOS?

YouTube tv on Apple TV audio issue i have a Epson projector connected to a Apple TV. I then wireless connect to my apple HomePod for audio. Netflix and other apps work fine but for some reason YouTube TV app doesn’t work With my homepod audio. Anybody know any fixes?

HomePod mini video playback lag and audio sync issue when using Airplay from M1 Mac mini My M1 Mac mini is connected to the HomePod mini via Airplay. When I clicked on the play button on a YouTube video on Safari, the video will start playing but no audio will come from the HomePod mini until 1-2 seconds later. As a result, the audio and video will be out of sync. Anyone has experienced this? Is there any solution to fix this? Thanks.
