I want to stream video sound from my iPad to HomePod while watching the video on the iPad. When attempting this the video stops while the sound goes to HomePod. Need help!

Stream all iPhone sound to Homepod I was running on a home treadmill and use a running app which has sound itself but in between plays my music. I know I can stream Music from my phone to HomePod but can I get my HomePod to literally act as a speaker for all sound on my phone and play all the sounds from my phone out loud?
