When asking for user name what do I do?

Apple does not provide nor manage your Microsoft exchange account. They won’t know a thing about that. You need to talk to whomever provides or manages your exchange account about it. Is this a work account? If so, ask you employer about it.

Any standard IMAP email service will do that. Gmail, iCloud and most other email services use IMAP these days.

Who is your email provider? What comes after the @?

So, what you should do is contact Century Link and see if they offer IMAP support for email and, if so, the settings for it.

How the email is set up (POP, IMAP, Exchange) is determined by the email provider, not by you.

According to Century Link’s web page they do not offer exchange mail services. They do offer both POP and IMAP however. And it looks like your user ID would be your full Century Link email address.

You would enter your exchange account userid.

If you're unsure about your Exchange settings and credentials, you should contact your Exchange administrator. Where I work, that's the IT department.

Well sorry, but only you would know who it is who provides that email service to you. We cannot possibly know that.
