Is there any way I can retrieve a file (an iMovie) after it was accidentally deleted?

I created a 20 min or so iMovie and it was accidentally deleted (and emptied from my trash) after trying to make some space on my MacBook Pro. I'm unsure of what to do next as I've looked in all the files I possibly can and there's no sign of the video. The iMovie I made means a lot to me so any help is really appreciated, thank you.
