Can I use an iPhone without a cellular service (use like an iPod) for apple CarPlay? My phone is not an iPhone, but I have one that is not connected to any cellular network. I want to use this iPhone in apple CarPlay for my navigation.

While a phone without cellular service would still connect to GPS, it wouldn't be able to download mapping information unless it was connected to WiFi.
Can you swap the SIM into the iPhone for use in the car?
