iPad Model MC706 B/A not charging

iPad Model MC706 B/A Version 9.3.5 (13G36) For several days I have being to recharge the iPad, but after an initial contact it drops out and there is little further charging. I have got it to ca. 40-45%, but no further. I have wipes cables.

I plug in the charger into the iPad 7th gen it’s kinda of stiff to do so. I recently bought an iPad 7th gen not even a week ago and when I plug in the charger into the iPad it’s kinda of stiff to do so. It also takes forever to charge completely. Is it defective?
