Mac Virus?

I recently was prompted to download the newest version of Flash and inadvertently downloaded a "mac virus scanner" and booking.com. I removed those apps, I think, but now every time I open my browser it doesn't open to my default "google page", but redirects to a search engine that appears to be related to yahoo. I can't seem to remove this redirect. Is this a virus that I need to get the computer looked at, or is there a way to remove this redirect?

Never download any Flash Player update because you got a prompt that it was out of date. There are many bogus Flash Player installs out there that will install malware. Only download either from System Preferences > Flash Player > Check for updates or from the Official Adobe site.

Follow Niel's instructions to remove the redirect/malware.
