Question: Maxed out Macbook Pro Mid 2012 Running Slow

Hello. Last year I purchases refurbished Macbook Pro 2012 Retina. Specifications look great and it has 16GB of RAM, SSD etc. I use it for work only.. Means I browse websites like facebook, browse google drives etc. I can't have 3 tabs open without my fans going crazy and whole macbook getting hot as fire. I expected such specifications to handle these simple tasks more efficiently...

Battery failure - Your battery is reporting that it needs to be serviced.

Adware - Adware detected.

You haves so much in the way of third party software installed, you'd be better off restoring your Mac to factory settings.

First off, you should get your battery served as it has high battery cycle count.

The second thing is that EtreCheck complains on Adware, and in your case I can see you are using CleanMyMac which has gotten a lot of negative reviews because of it's bad impact on your computer.

The reason why your fans would get loud is usually because a certain process is using more CPU time that it should. It could be a faulty Safari extension, it could be CleanMyMac, it could be a website using Flash or older technology. I'd open up your Activity Monitor and watch the CPU utilisation when your fans start to get loud.

Hope it works out for you.

Activity Monitor is your friend here. There is a tab labelled "Energy" which will give you a better idea of which processes might be causing your machine to heat up.
