ESPN app not allowing playback but WatchESPN app works on my phone

I got a new Apple TV 4K. I selected my TV provider, Charter/Spectrum on my Apple Tv and when I enter the ESPN app and try to play something it takes me through the verification process, but never to the Spectrum login site. I put in the code and it says successful, but when I try and play something, it says "playback could not be started, check with you spectrum account to make sure you have access". I had access on the prior Apple TV.

The strange thing is that the WatchEspn app that uses the same log in works on my phone.

Is there something I need to reset or some known issue?
