I have an iphone 6 that i bought from a friend who upgraded and got a new phone. so my question is does that warranty still go with this phone??
My bottom line question is i think my phone has the touch disease would i just need to replace the whole phone or would replacing the ic touch chip repair my phone?

Yes. The warranty stays with device. If the device is loess than a year old, it still has warranty time left, it can be used.
If the device is more than a year old,then there would be no warranty left on it to use unless AppleCare+ was purchased for it.
Warranties are transferable.
When was it purchased? I'm thinking an iPhone 6 is probably too old to still have its original warranty in place. AppleCare would need to be specifically transferred if your friend bought it.
