OS X High Sierra installation

Every time I tried to install high Sierra on a machine it will boot to recovery. I have the bootable USB drive and I just want to make it clean install but no luck looked at the disk utility seems like high Sierra created the partition and everything like preboot etc. HELP!

Everything worked fine until I got to the step in "Install macOS" from the Utilities menu. I arrowed down to the selection and pressed [enter]. Nothing happens. Ideas? Macbook Pro Mid 2010. Erase and Reinstall OS X I've got a Macbook Pro Mid 2010 that I'm trying to wipe clean and do a fresh OS install on. When I started it in recovery mode and used disk utility to erase the disk, something went wrong and now all I can see is 'OS X Base System', which I can't partition, erase or restore. So I figured all I need to do now is go to 'Reinstall macOS' and install High Sierra. But when I do that and it asks me to select a disk to install to, there are no disks to select, there's just a blank space under the words 'select the disk where you want to install the macOS' What do I do? Hoping someone can help!

High Sierra reinstall issues Hi, I have a late 2017 21” iMac, 8GB of ram, running High Sierra. I have no recovery partition and startup switches do not work. I have a copy of the High Sierra installer and have the command line input necessary to make a USB drive installable. My questions, is there a way to specify a boot device without the Startup Manager? How can I create a Recovery Partition and, with a constant external backup, do I need to? Thanks in advance for your advice.
