Why is a trashed email still in Archive Folder?

I made an email folder in Apple Mail for incoming emails from a certain email address. All incoming emails from this address would go directly to this user made folder. I open an email from this folder, read, and send the email to trash. Why is the same email still in Archive Folder in Apple Mail. I trashed it. I want it gone. Now I must go to Archive to trash it once more. Why? Can I turn this Archive folder OFF?

See this thread How to permantl delete messages from Archive in OSX?

If you create a folder on my my Mac section in mail side bar and create a rule that all incoming mails should move to this folder , it will follow .

And you delete the mails From this folder to the trash , they will move to the trash of your gmail account see this article Delete or recover deleted Gmail messages - Computer - Gmail Help

The trash mails can be still saved permanently for sake if you want to read them later , create a second new mail box and select them ( command and A ) , copy them ( command and C ) and paste them ( command and V ) over the folder .

Archiving in web mail is just labelling , they cannot be deleted but can be stopped showing in apple mail application ie . Archive folder , by going to labels in web mail account , and uncheck the box of show mails in IMAP .

Also you can not delete the mails from archive folder of apple mail application , its just a configuration from web mail account to apple mail application ( kind of mirroring ) .

I went to Gmail, and there is no way to turn off this action.

There are settings in Apple Mail / Accounts where behavior of the account might be the key, but it is confusing. The preferences acts like I should try to keep copies of everything, even trashed. If I trash something I want it GONE.

There is nothing in Mail to change Gmail's behavior. They keep all of your email in order to sell you. Don't be Google.

Look in the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab.

Here is what I set to change the behavior to make it delete emails that I delete.

With you guy's help, I figured out where the check boxes were in Google Mail web setup. Google seems to default everyone's mail settings to save all mail to ARCHIVE folders. That's great, but I want any mail I trash to go away immediately upon quitting Gmail. The settings are at your Web Gmail Setup from your computer. Look at suggestions above for directions. Thanks for the help.
