I would like to alter the background color of Photos from white to gray. I think this is a major design flaw, especially when viewing black and white photographs. The old "unsophisticated" iPhoto had a gray background. So much better! Any ideas?

But it makes perfect sense to point out problems with the user interface of Photos and missing features in these forums as well, as long as it is a constructive feedback. The feedback form does not have much space to explain the problem and we cannot add attachments, like screenshots.
The Apple Support Communities Terms of Use encourage us to use these forums for constructive feedback. remember item 2.3 "Submissions"?
Post constructive comments and questions. Unless otherwise noted, your Submission should either be a technical support question or a technical support answer. Constructive feedback about product features is welcome as well.
I do not want rants here either - throwing tantrums and offending Apple or the fellow posters, but if one specific feature of a product is criticized, even harshly, I can live with it. I do not want feedback on Apple's products to be completely blocked from these discussions. Your reply suggests to me, that the feedback form is the only way to let Apple know about certain limitations of Photos or to request missing features:

Two years of sending feedback about the white background in Photos did not help to convince the Apple developers, that the white background in the browser is not suitable to compare photos. I want feature requests and a discussion about problematic features right here.
Maybe in German it does but in English "Total Nonsense" is not the way to start a "constructive suggestion" nor is it a "technical support question" or a "technical support answer" - It is the start of a RANT and as such is not allowed per the TOU
and "Total Nonsense" certainly does not meet the "be polite' requirement in English
Be polite. Everyone should feel comfortable reading Submissions and participating in discussions. Apple will not tolerate flames or other inappropriate statements, material, or links. Most often, a "flame" is simply a statement that is taunting and thus arbitrarily inflammatory. However, this also includes those which are libelous, defamatory, indecent, harmful, harassing, intimidating, threatening, hateful, objectionable, discriminatory, abusive, vulgar, obscene, pornographic, sexually explicit, or offensive in a sexual, racial, cultural, or ethnic context.
And "Total Nonsense" also violates this provision of the TOU
- Stay on topic. Apple Support Communities is here to help people use Apple products and technologies more effectively. Unless otherwise noted, do not add Submissions about non technical topics, including:
- Speculations or rumors about unannounced products.
- Discussions of Apple policies or procedures or speculation on Apple decisions.
And of course the fact remains that postings even constructive comments here (which "Total Nonsense" is certainly not) is simply a waste on everyone's time
Bottom line is that no one believe that the posted comment was intended this as constructive - it was just one more stupid RANT

Thanks Larry, but following people around the forums telling them how and what they should post and what their opinions of Apple products should be, is quite patronising and bullying. Your comment is unwanted, unexpected and completely inappropriate.
You've interfered with several discussions, and provided your own opinions, but cannot tolerate those of others when they differ from yours. I might suggest to simply refrain from commenting instead of pasting forum rules, which I find deeply impolite.
It is not the first time you have offended me with your patronising and rigid attitude either. I appreciate you take a lot of time to try and help people here, but you are not always right, and your language can come across as smarmy.
Your comment is off topic, whereas mine is not. You are also dragging me into needing to point out the above about your behaviour towards other forum users. I stand by my comment. Agreed it does not 'fix' the lack of functionality in Photos.
There are many quirks of behaviour in Photos. It is, in many ways a vastly inferior app to iPhoto. This is a key point many forum users have made. We are adjusting to an app that does not adequately replace it, nor does there appear to be an app that replaces it. This feels rather backward technologically, especially for Apple. I have attempted to embrace it and tried to remain positive about it, but the more I've used it, the more shortcomings I've found.
As other users have pointed out here, providing feedback to Apple has done nothing.

I agree, it is total nonsense. iPhoto actually had a choice via a slider for the user to specify the background colour. White does not work for me either.
