You've been led in the wrong direction. Visual Voice Mail is a carrier service and using a T-Mobile iPhone on the Straight Talk network is adding to the problem. Go to the Straight Talk user forum to find an answer to your issue.
It was very clear. But since you are looking for people with Visual Voice Mail issues on Straight Talk, which is a carrier issue, you will find a much bigger pool of people to help you than you will here. The only settings for Visual Voice Mail are within the APN or Carrier settings.
I’m looking for people with visual voicemail issues with an IPHONE on Straight Talk. You know...APPLE. IPHONE. 7+. Which is why I posted on an Apple forum. This is not even slightly unreasonable. And it’s up for debate whether this is an Apple or carrier issue.
No, you are looking for someone who is using T-Mobile iPhone 7 Plus on the Straight Talk network that is having problems with Visual Voice Mail. And it is not up for debate, it is long been known that Visual Voice Mail is a CARRIER service. Either the Carrier Settings on your iPhone are not correct for some reason in which case you would need an update from Straight Talk, the APN settings are incorrect if your iPhone is not being shown as supported, in which case you could edit the APN settings but you would need to get the correct settings from Straight Talk, or the is a problem with the provisioning of your iPhone which would have to be corrected by Straight Talk support. Do you see a pattern here? Is there a reason you don't want to go to the Straight Talk forum or talk to their support?
The only user intervention that can be done on an iPhone would be if you are using a non-authorized carrier and then you would be allowed to manually edit the APN. But you would have to get the correct settings from the carrier.
Have you tried restoring your iPhone which would then reload the Carrier Settings? Have you checked the version number of your Carrier settings in Settings > General > About > Carrier Settings and confirmed that is the correct version?
The APN settings were entered manually and are the ones ST recommended. The carrier version is not showing an available update. Restore did not work as mentioned already. Straight Talk claims it ‘should‘ be working but it is not.
If you are manually editing the APN settings then you will not have a carrier settings file. This problem has appeared in the past and usually through experimentation someone in the ST forums has posted a change to the APN settings that resolves it.
All my other phones were from different carriers and visual voicemail worked fine.
So how is this one working for you?
Other than Visual Voicemail, just fine.
Then again, I suggest you try the Straight Talk forums, you are more likely to find your solution there since Visual Voice Mail is carrier dependent.
Yes, you said that already. I’m looking for input from people that have had the same issue if that was not clear.
I have been looking there as well, nothing so far.
No Visual Voicemail on my IPhone 7+
