am not allowed to listen to the iTUnes song I bought

Ten years ago I purchased a song on iTunes with the Apple ID I had at the time.

A few years after, I changed email addresses and got a new Apple ID.

Today I couldn't open the old song. "Amazing Slow Downer" said the Apple ID that I bought it with, wasn't recognized.

The apple support page also says it doesn't know my old Apple ID.

I don't remember the old password and I can't retrieve a new one because I no longer have that email address. How can I play the song??

macOS High Sierra (10.13.2)

All purchases are tied to the Apple ID used to make the purchase. Since you can't recover your old ID, the easiest thing to do would be to delete the song, and download it again using your current Apple ID.

The song is downloaded, it's in my iTunes folder. Just like 40 other songs I bought under that apple ID.
If I delete it, I'm afraid I'll lose it and have to buy it again.

Are you saying I can retrieve these songs through my new Apple ID?

They play ok in iTunes.

THe problem is that when I want to open them in Amazing Slow Downer, a program that slows the songs down, it doesn"t play them. It says this computer is not authorized to open it, and that I should open iTunes.

Which is already open, and it demands the password from the old Apple ID.

Given the situation you have posted, it appears that if you want to use the songs with 3rd party software, you will need to buy them again or use your old ID to authorize the data transfer.
