G'day,
I’m using Illustrator CS 6, version 16.0.5, and have noticed a bunch of fonts in the font menu that I didn't install.
They don't show up in Font Book Did a search and nothing shows up.
Do other apps install fonts (like MS Office) and then hide them?
Working on a late 2012 Mac mini running macOS High Sierra 10.13.3. 16 GB of RAM. 1 TB SSD.

These six fonts are installed by the OS, but due to a bug that's been around since El Capitan, they won't show up in any Apple supplied app. Iowan Old Style just joined the list in High Sierra. The other five since El Capitan.

The Adobe apps, Microsoft Office, you name it. Any and all third party apps see them. Apple's apps do not.
The only current fix (if you want to be able to use them everywhere) is to copy these six fonts from a Mac running Yosemite and completely replace the High Sierra installed versions with the older copies.

If so, CS6 dumped them into the /Library/Fonts/ folder.
I mostly can't understand why Apple won't fix what should be a very simple issue. I've submitted three bug reports on it.
It was fixed in Sierra with the beta 3 release, and continued on working as they should until 12.2.2. Then they stopped appearing in anything Apple related again and have continued on the "ghost" list since.
