Any advice on how to fly with a 21.5" iMac?

I am traveling for work (3+ month trip) and will need to bring my 21.5" iMac with me. I need some advice on how to fly with the iMac in a carry-on bag. I have looked in to an iLugger and have read that users have had no issues with traveling, but I also noticed the dimensions are slightly over TSA limits. Has anyone used this method before without any issues? ALSO, is there a way to temporarily remove the base/stand? If so it would solve everything! Thank you. I'm flying American Airlines, if that helps.

iMac, iOS 11.2.6, 21.5"

The safest way would be to use Fed-Ex, UPS, or DHL and ship

it and have them hold it at some destination office for pick-up.

Even if it were allowed, I definitely would not check it as baggage.

Baggage handling is very rough and also baggage can be delayed

or worse, lost.
