Mac OS server can't be installed on MacBookAir mid 2011

hi there, I installed Mac OS high Sierra on my MacBook Air mid 2011 edition, then after I bought the Mac OS server app from the App Store recently, whenever id try to install this app, it always gave me this warning.. "This version of Server does not support upgrading the Server data on this volume. To upgrade your Server data, you will need to install an older version of Server and OS X."

can anybody tell me what this is all about please ??
