New Macbook Pro is slower than my old Macbook Pro

Hi,

I just switched to a new Macbook pro (15" 2017, i7 CPU) from a Macbook pro (13" Late 2016 or 2017, i5). I forgot the exact year of my old one, but it comes with the touch bar.

When I open the same heavy Excel file, my new Macbook pro is much slower. It takes about 30 secs ~ 1 min for new Macbook, while my old Macbook pro only takes seconds.

No Joy - Migration Assistant recognizes New and Old Macs; but Spinning Wheels won't stop Migration Assistant, on mid 2009 Mac Book Pro, AND on Intel 2018 Mac Mini begin OK; but 'spinning wheels' never stop in spite Recognition of Old Mac by Mac Mini.
