My Ipad (3th gen. on iOS 9.3.5.) keep restarting

My Ipad (3th gen. on iOS 9.3.5.) keep restarting. It goes black (for the left side of the screen) after 1 minute. I tried to back it up or repear (software) it on my iMac, but it can't connect to the device properly. Its does say that a Ipad is connected, but it can't open it's photo's. Also the iMac does not display the Ipad in iTunes.

Please help : )

Your Mac must be running the latest version of iTunes > Update to the latest version of iTunes - Apple Support
