My Iphone8 will not play Bluetooth audio from my 2012 Lexus ES350, my old iPhone 6 played it just fine with same OS?

If you're using Bluetooth
- Check your car stereo's user manual for how to pair with a Bluetooth device.
- Go to Settings > Bluetooth, and turn off Bluetooth. Wait for 5 seconds, then turn Bluetooth back on.
- Restart your iOS device.
- On your iOS device, unpair your car stereo. On your car's display, unpair your iOS device and any other devices. Restart your car and your iOS device, then pair and connect again.
- Update your iOS device.
- Install any firmware updates for your car stereo.
- If you still can't connect, contact Apple Support.

Thanks for the try, but my new iphone8 is incompatible with my 2012 Lexus ES 350. It works fine with my IPhone 6?? Same iOS? Can’t afford another new Lexus and I don’t see any available Lexus updates for my cars entertainment system? Perhaps Apple and Lexus need to talk? Not sure I can upgrade iPhones any more?

The iPhone 8 uses Bluetooth 5.0 and Lexus may need to update their system to be compatible with the iPhone 8 and X. If Lexus contacts Apple they will help them with their firmware but it is ultimately up to Lexus to make the update available to their customers.
My iPhone X works perfectly with my Lexus 2014, so did my iPhone 7+, 6S+ and 6+, si it does look like the Lexus 2012 software needs updating as you have suggested
