Unable to download app on MacBook airt

I just reformat my MacBook Air and when I try to download there’s always a error message either saying that the app must be the app can’t be install because OS X version 10.10 or later is required but when I check for software update it shows no update available.

MacBook Air, iOS 10, IOS VERSION 10.9.5

Hi,

If you have an original MacBook Air from 2008, then your Mac will not support any further downloads of OS X and you cannot upgrade from OS X 10.7.5 Lion.

You can check this by clicking the *Apple Logo* > About.

This will display the year of your Mac as well as its current Mac OSX Version to confirm what I said.
