Seagate drive

I had been using my Seagate external drive with no problem, but it quit letting me write to it. The Seagate website said I would need to install NTFS for mac in order for it work. I have done this and now my computer will not even recognize the Seagate external drive. HELP!

Seagate NTFS drive no longer mounts on Mac Mini Hey, all...I have a Seagate 8 TB EHD that used to mount on my Mac Mini.Some notes:Both versions of Paragon NTFS can see the drive.Disk Utility can see the drive.My PC can mount the drive and read and write to it perfectly.My MacBook Air can mount the drive in seconds and see the files but it's read only. Despite that, the drive works perfectly. The MacBook Air is running High Sierra 10.13.3I am running High Sierra 10.13.4 on the Mini.Mac System Report's USB Bus can see the drive.Here's all the things I've tried:1) Paragon NTFS for Mac (free version and not free version) tries to mount the drive and comes back with an error telling me that it "failed to mount my NTFS drive".2) Safe Mode doesn't see it.3) Disk Utility cannot mount the drive. Repairing in "Show All" does nothing except run a quick second-long repair.4) As stated, the drive connects to other computers without any issues.5) Mounty NTFS can't see the drive.6) Zapping NVRAM does nothing.7) Uninstalling and reinstalling Paragon does nothing.I'm at a loss here...what am I missing?

External Seagate HD problem with formating I have bought new Seagate HD to use with time machine. When connected to laptop it mounts fine. I tried to setup TimeMachine on it, so OS asked me to format it (or prepare for TimeMachine). I clicked 'yes erase all data' and it tried to erase it. After 2 seconds error came up that drive could not be formatted, and it unmounted it. I could see it on DiskUtility so I have tried to format it there, and it happened again, regardless which file system I have chosen.I have connected it to windows, I cold see it and format it. Now it is useless for data coping, unless I format NTFS on windows and than use it on mac. What is this problem with formatting? This happened some time ago to one of my friends and he ended up using HD for manual data backup!!!Seagate box says it is compatible with mac formats.

Uninstall NTFS. If you could read and write before and not now, there is something else wrong.

After the uninstall of NTFS, restart.

Then open DiskUtility: select the Seagate external on the left, then select the FirstAid tab and let it do its work.

"iOS 10.13.3 was not an option" was not an option because a Mac does not run "iOS" anything

Mac OS 10.13.3 is a version of High Sierra

It must be a typo: he has a mac not a iOS unit. He should corrrect his profile: remove the "i" in iOS 10.13.3

He is in the correct community.
