Blue text message stuck in middle screen.

My iPhone 7 Plus has a blue text message stuck on screen. The text has already been sent, but I can’t delete it. I tried getting totally out of text messaging, turning on and off the phone. How do I get this off the middle of my screen? It’s very annoying.

iPhone 7 Plus, iOS 11.1

Hello melmanart,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

I see that you have a blue text message stuck on your iPhone display. Since you indicate you have tried quitting the Messages app and restarting the iPhone, with no success. I would next suggest doing a force restart of your iPhone. These are the steps for your iPhone 7 plus:

You can force restart your device even if the screen is black or the buttons aren't responding. Follow these steps:

On an iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus: Press and hold both the Side and Volume Down buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won‘t turn on or is frozen

Best regards.

Thank you for your help, and I appreciate your advice. I was perplexed by the problem, lack of information about it, and lack of response from the Apple community. It‘s hard to believe that this problem is unique to my phone, but finding no discussion about this issue within the Apple community makes me wonder? Fortunately, the problem has corrected itself. It’s a weird, annoying glitch that has happened a couple of times. If it happens again, I will certainly try what you suggested!

Thank you sterling r.

Sincerly, melmanart.
